About the Department

Presently the department offers Three year and Four year programmes of study following the recommendation of NEP-2020 which envisages a holistic, inclusive and multidisciplinary education system with special focus on the development of  all capacities of human beings - intellectual, aesthetic, social, physical, emotional, ethical, and moral - in an integrated manner; soft skills, such as complex problem solving, critical thinking, creative thinking, communication skills; and rigorous specialization in a chosen field (s) of learning.

The curriculum consists of major stream courses, minor stream courses and courses from various other disciplines, value added courses, skill enhancement courses, study of mother tongue etc. The department also fosters the possibilities of young minds through debates, quizzes, excursion, wall magazine, cultural programmes, student lectures / peer learning etc. To initiate our students into the interdisciplinary era of academic thinking we also arrange for lectures on our syllabi by teachers from different subjects.
