About the Department
The growth of any country is built on its commerce and trade. A nation's commerce is its lifeblood and one of the essential conditions for its development. The economic development of a nation is greatly influenced by commerce education. Accounting, management, business law, taxation, business statistics, human resource management, economics, and business studies are all combined within the study of commerce. Most significantly, commerce fosters organizational growth and gives the organization direction and stability. With the use of balance sheets, journals, ledgers, and other tools, accounts enable the organization to perceive the true picture or state of our firm. One of the most crucial areas of trade is economics, which teaches business people how to make the most use of their limited resources in order to maximize short-term profits. Knowledge regarding marketing, HR, and sales management can be gained through business studies.
The Department of Commerce has started its journey with B. Com General Course during the academic session 1981-82 and B. Com Honours course in Accountancy in 1996-97.
