About the Department :

The Department of Botany has started its journey in 1994 with the introduction of B.Sc. General course having Botany as a subject under the affiliation of The University of Burdwan. Later on the Honours course in Botany was introduced in 2016 and the CCFUP courses under NEP 2020 was started in 2023.  The department has well equipped laboratories and classrooms to run the courses. The qualified and dedicated teachers of the department are involved to teach the courses. Dr. S.K. Basak have been acted as the Principal or Co-Investigator of various research projects sponsored by different govt. agencies like UGC, DST, DBT, WBPCB etc. The teachers of the department has published many research papers in the journals of national and international repute. They also attended seminars, symposium, workshops etc. to be updated with the recent scenario. The department has organised national seminar sponsored by DSTBT, Govt. of West Bengal and webinar also.
