In 2002 the Department of Geography of Sarat Centenary College started its journey along with three years General Degree Course. Frequent demands from the students, local people and on the basis of recommendation of first NAAC PEER Team three years Honours Course had commenced in this department from 2005. During this journey the department has experienced a lots of blossoming flowers in the field of higher education within this rural environment. In spite of many socio-economic constrains, the students of this department always tried to cross the hurdle and many of them already been settled properly. During this journey all the faculty members and teaching support staff tried to maintain the flow of enormous support in favour of the students. For the purpose of part fulfillment of their syllabi, the students actively participated in Field Survey weather it may be in adjacent local areas or any part of our country. The students of this department also get the vicinity of several esteemed faculty members of different colleges as the department conducts faculty exchange programme with different colleges as collaborative academic MoU or Linkage. Besides, the academic activities the department also observed successfully all the events like, celebration of Teacher’s Day, Welcome the new students of the department, farewell ceremony of the out-going batches, participation in National Science Day exhibition, display of departmental wall magazine also participated in NSS as volunteers, College Annual Cultural Programme, College Annual Sports and so on. Presently the department is utterly trying to extract the sweet flavours of the newly introduce CCFUP under the NEP 2020.
